I feel bad writing a negative review without having read the book... but Amazon advertises this as "English and Spanish Edition" and there might be a dozen spanish words sprinkled around. This just isn't what I was looking for at all.

I discovered Walking Stars, reading it with students where I worked, at a San Diego high school. The story of the two boys who went after the evil general, and the true magic of the mother's faith, grabbed me and changed me. And the story of the boy, going up against the power of the bruja, is an amazing gem!With this book, I caught the fire for Victor Villasenor's stories of his great familia. I immediately sent it to my friend who had just been imprisoned, to help strengthen him.Walking Stars is just a taste of the power of Villasenor's other books; however, the personal notes and background he includes with each story are essential to visiting his works.

Senor Villasenor is an amazingly gifted author who commits all of his knowledge and wisdom to his works. The first of his works I read was "Burro Genius" and that prompted me to purchase all of his books. They have each offered wisdom, spirituality, humility, creativity and compassion.

Is a very pretty book, the stories are about the magic of life and, about many things that we can see around us. I highly recommend this book!!!

Wonderful, as is all of Victor's work. Deeply moving and inspiring.

I really enjoy the author and his many journals of happiness (as to what i call it). I will encourage others to purchase

I have not had time to read this book yet, but I am looking forward to Christmas break so I have some leisure reading time! Loved Rain of Gold.

Since I read Rain of Gold first, I noticed that a couple of vignettes in the book were cited from it, but nevertheless, I still enjoyed the read. These are stories from the heart, and for non-practicing Catholics, it certainly explains away a family's faith and spirituality as a away of living, coping and survival.
